The California Community College Collaborative

Established jointly in 2005 by the leadership of the University of California and the California Community Colleges , C4 at UCR seeks to improve the quality of California’s community colleges by providing data-driven policy research.

A Policy Center

Focusing on the needs of California’s community colleges, C4 provides much needed valuable information to the current and future educational leaders of California by:

  • Supporting and conducting empirically-based research on community colleges
  • Creating a program for the professional development of educational leaders throughout California

Applying ideas of faculty, leadership and policy development and guided by an Advisory Council, C4 seeks to establish California’s community colleges as "educational organizations," "institutional systems" and "learning environments."

The Partners

The C4's founding document established a collaborative between UCR and a number of schools including:

  • Riverside Community College
  • UC Berkeley
  • UC Davis
