To begin, you will want to read (and download if you'd like) the Fieldwork Guidelines.
Once you have read the Fieldwork Guidelines, you will need to download, complete, and submit the Affidavit for Fieldwork Placement to the Teacher Education office (located in Sproul 1124; open 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) by the end of the second week of classes.
Fall quarter 2007: October 15th, 2007
Winter quarter 2007: TBA, 2008
Spring quarter 2007: TBA, 2008
PRIOR TO STARTING your fieldwork in an RUSD classroom. There is also a Student Acknowledgment of Rights and Responsibilities for those placed in RUSD that needs to be downloaded, completed, and submitted to the Teacher Education office (located in Sproul 1124; open 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday). This is with respect to the Agreement dated August 28, 2003 (Agreement) by and between the Riverside Unified School District ("District") and the Regents of the University of California ("College") for the provision of student teachers and student field experience.
To document your fieldwork for your course, download the Field Participation Log. Take it with you when you go to the classroom. Record the date, number of hours, and the activities/participation that you were involved in while there. Make sure to have your cooperating teacher sign the log after each visit to the classroom. You will be asked to submit this log to your instructor prior to the end of the quarter to verify completion of your fieldwork hours .
There is also a Letter of Introduction specific to the course you are enrolled in, which verifies your enrollment in an Education course that requires a specific number of hours of fieldwork experience. This letter should be presented when seeking a placement at a school or when you report to the school you have been assigned to (if you requested placement assistance).

The final document is the Field Placement Verification form and it is to be downloaded, completed, signed by the cooperating teacher (and school administrator if you found your own placement) and submitted to the Teacher Education office (located in Sproul 1124; open 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.)
