The GSOE Difference

Shaping Ideas, Shaping Minds, Shaping the Future
Shaping extraordinary leaders is our mission at the GSOE. And to achieve it, we shape ideas about education by taking a thoughtful, results-oriented approach. We shape minds by bringing the rigor of research and practice to work. And we shape the future of education in positive, forward-thinking ways.
An Intimate Community in the Heart of Southern California
Our tight-knit community takes pride in its collegial, "hometown" reputation. Classes of 10-12 students nurture close relationships and shared experiences. Opportunities to interact with faculty both inside and outside of the classroom abound.
Beyond the school's welcoming doors lies Inland Southern California — one of the nation's fastest growing and most diverse regions, and an endless source of opportunities for engaging with today's education issues firsthand.
Other Pluses
- A strong local network of alumni provides mentors and contacts
- Growing school districts mean employment opportunities are plentiful
The Opportunity to Collaborate with World-Class Faculty
The GSOE's experienced faculty includes two Spencer Fellows and nationally-recognized experts in autism and learning-disability research.
Yet despite these credentials, our faculty relishes mentoring and teaching above all else. GSOE students see their professors' research cited in their reading; they also get the opportunity to co-author scholarly papers, participate with faculty in cutting-edge educational research, and discuss ideas with some of the best thinkers in the field.
Addressing the Challenges Facing Educators Today
At the GSOE, we strive to put theory into action. Our faculty values real-world solutions over abstract lab research, and instills in students a solid foundation in practical education policy.
Programs such as C4 and Copernicus allow students to address contemporary issues affecting educators in the local community and the nation as a whole.
Our well-rounded approach prepares students to be outstanding teachers, committed advocates and innovative policymakers, ready to take on today’s toughest education challenges.
