Evidence-based Intervention for Poor Readers with Cognitive Challenges

Principal Investigator(s)/Project Directors: Dr. Rollanda O'Connor, Kathleen Bocian, Dr. Margaret Beebe-Frankenberger, Dr. Frank Gresham

Project description: Over the five years of this research, we will develop and test the effects of instructional modifications for teaching young students with cognitive impairments to read. We will characterize the most effective modifications, document short and long term response to the interventions, and determine the feasibility of using paraprofessionals to deliver the instruction to students in small groups.
